Admissions Policy

Longlands Community Primary School provides primary education for pupils from Market Drayton town and the surrounding area.

The school's current admissions policy is operated by Shrewsbury Academies Trust. Please click here to see the full Admissions Policy.

For admission information please click here which will take you to the Shropshire Council Admissions page.

Parents of Reception children in Shropshire will be required, in the autumn term prior to the school year of admission, to complete an LEA application form stating preferences for up to three schools.

At Longlands Primary School close links are maintained with our local secondary schools and, in particular, with Grove School in the town, ensuring as smooth a transition as possible for all our pupils at 11+. Pupils in Year 5 and Year 6 are offered taster days at Grove School or other preferred secondary school as well as opportunities to meet the staff through weekly foreign language teaching and other prearranged events designed to support transition arrangements. Parents should be aware that attendance at a particular primary school does not in any way guarantee a place at a particular secondary school.
